Good People

We've been pondering whether to create a forum on our website in advance of the release of English Electric. However, our Facebook group is beginning to do the job very nicely.

Over there you can read learned conversations about the last resting place of the Winchester Diver; you will find out which songs Spotters think should be covered by BBT and you can seek information on our future plans.

You will meet cultured and attractive people discussing English folk music and the size of Nick's cajones.

In short, you will be in good company and, if not already a member of the group, I urge you to pop on over and take a look.

Yeah, but what about those who refuse to use Facebook? :-/

I am also a Facebook refusnik, so won't be joining you there. Hopefully you'll continue to post BBT news on your owen website.

This blog, David's blog and the main website will all remain active and will be regularly updated, as will our twitter accounts. Facebook will not become our main web presence but our group there will offer a forum for interested non-refuseniks. I may be wrong, but I think the BBT Facebook group page is open and can be read without having a Facebook account.

Greg, unfortunately the Facebook group page is inaccessible to those of us without FB accounts. I'm a BBT fanatic but am opposed to FB business practices. That said, I am aware of other band pages on FB that are accessible for browsing by non-members and I urge you to check into how this might be done for the BBT pages.

Many thanks,
Doug

Doug, thanks for testing this for us. I'll see what I can do to open the page up (it says 'open group' on there so I assumed it would be accessible.)

Hi ! Your biggest french fan (well, I hope so !) can't wait to discover your next masterpiece ! But as many of your followers, I'm allergic to facebook : I won't join you on FB, so don't forget us and give us news on blogger (and why not on the BBT website ? I don't understand very well why the band website is not the main place for giving latests news to your fans ?)

Hi Laurent, the blog and the main website will still be where we publish the latest news. This blog will remain fully active and we're currently working on a complete redesign of the main site ahead of the new album. However, we've been wondering for some time about a web forum (most bands seem to have them) but I've noticed a fall off in traffic on many band-specific forums as fans migrate to forums on Facebook (where they can move easily between different forums). I fully appreciate the concerns about Facebook and I will make sure anything interesting from the page gets posted here too.
